Project Management
Hornblower Marine Management
Engineering, Renewable energy, Project management
Over the past several years, Hornblower has directly overseen several different successful build strategies for overhaul, conversion, repowering, and new construction of a variety of different vessels for different sectors of the maritime industry. Hornblower’s involvement in these strategies first and foremost focuses on being a steward of the vessel owner’s interests.
Hornblower emphasizes the importance of communication and collaboration, and strives to openly collaborate, discuss, address concerns and agree on the best course of action. The management team, many of whom have themselves spent decades laboring at shipyards working on vessels, bring great insight and value.
As a testament to Hornblower’s past success, Hornblower has managed large-scale new construction projects such as building the entire 38-vessel fleet for NYC Ferry, on time and on schedule in under 42 months, as well as managing the design and construction of the country’s first hydrogen fuel cell passenger ferry. Other high-profile overhaul and refurbishment projects include the electrification of a former diesel vehicle ferry to the country’s first all-electric zero-emission ferry, as well as the hybridization of the Alcatraz Cruises fleet.
